Ashlee MarIe Preston

Ashlee Marie Preston is an award-winning Media Personality, Cultural Commentator, Social Impact Strategist, Political Analyst, & Civil Rights Activist. She is historically the first trans woman to become Editor in Chief of a national publication and the first openly trans person to run for state office in California. Ashlee Marie was named one of The Root 100's "Most Influential African Americans of 2017", profiled as one of LOGO/NewNowNext’s 30 Most Influential LGBTQ Influencers of 2017 & 2018, PopSugar's top 40 LGBTQ's of 2017, OUT Magazine’s OUT100 of 2018, made her TED talk debut in September of 2018, and was chosen as one of Coca-Cola’s “Next Generation LGBTQ Leadership” influencers of 2018. In addition she was honored as one of  Essence Magazine’s “WOKE 100” of 2019 and is a former national surrogate for Elizabeth Warren’s 2020 Presidential Campaign.

Justin Tranter

Justin Tranter is an award-winning songwriter, singer, and activist. They have written songs for Britney Spears, Gwen Stefani, Linkin Park, Kelly Clarkson, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Fifth Harmony, 5 Seconds of Summer, Ariana Grande, Fall Out Boy, among others, and frequently co-writes with fellow songwriter Julia Michaels. Tranter was the lead singer of Semi Precious Weapons, a rock band based in New York. They are also a board member of GLAAD, an organization that promotes LGBTQ acceptance in the entertainment and news industries.

taj paxton

Taj Paxton is a writer, director, and producer. Her work has been recognized with four  consecutive Emmy Awards in the Documentary category. In 2018, she and her Mom Judge Mablean made history when they became the first mother/daughter duo nominated for an Emmy in the same year. In her career, she has been honored with a Humanitas Prize, NBC Shorts Cuts Award and a special Television Academy honor for the documentary, Forbidden: Queer & Undocumented in America. Her most recent work is a music-inspired short. My Brothers Keeper, a meditation of love and loss that asks the audience to expand their understanding of Black masculinity that screened for Diverse in Cannes. She served on the Board of Directors for Outfest Film Festival and was the chair of Outfest’s Fusion Film Festival. She’s a mentor for Women In Film, Chicken & Egg and is a member of Georgetown University’s Entertainment & Media Alliance. Her entire career has been lived at the intersection of race, gender & sexual orientation and, equally important, at the intersection of art and social change. She believes a story well told is one of our best tools against  bigotry and hatred.

Stephen Macias

Stephen Macias is the Executive VP of Multicultural communications at Rogers and Cowan PMK. Previously he was was the senior vice president, and the diversity & inclusion practice lead at MWWPR, overseeing a team working with companies like Comcast, FX, Netflix, Amazon Studios, Kellogg’s, and Hilton Worldwide. Before that, Stephen was the founder of Macias Media Group LLP, which became one of the leading “boutique” PR firms focused on LGBTQ+ markets. He has worked as executive vice president and GM for Here Media Inc., and as entertainment media director for GLAAD, as well as for nonprofits like the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, Outfest, Equality California, the U.N. and the Global Equality Fund.
